6:00 - 7:15 AM - Hatha Yoga

7:30 - 8:30 AM - Yoga Philosophy

6:30 - 8:30 PM - Ashtanga, Alignment & Anatomy


PREREQUISITES FOR THE COURSE:

  • Curiosity to practise & learn Yoga beyond the mat

  • Basic Yoga Asana Practice

  • Do mention if you have any injury

YOGA ANATOMY :

  • Language Of Anatomy

  • Anatomy Of The Hip

  • Anatomy Of The Knee

  • Anatomy Of The Shoulder

  • Anatomy Of The Spine

  • Anatomy Of Bones & Joints


ALIGNMENT & TEACHING METHODOLOGY :

  • How to move into & out of the posture

  • Avoiding injuries with right alignment

  • Teaching -  warm ups, asanas, pranayamas & full 80-minute session

  • How to plan a class

  • Sample class plans

  • Alignment Cues


YOGA PHILOSOPHY :

  • Introduction of Yoga: Etymology, Meaning, Origins, Development of Yoga, Introduction to Samkhya Philosophy

  • Yoga Sutras of Patanjali: Definition, Fluctuations of the mind, Practice & Dispassion, Concept of Ishvara, Pranava (Om), Samadhi, Kriya Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga of Patanjali.

  • Daily Mindfulness meditation


ASHTANGA YOGA

  • Complete Ashtanga Primary Series

  • Alignment of all the asanas

  • Surya Namaskar A & B

  • Standing Series

  • Main Practice

  • Closing Series

  • Everyday Practise


REQUIREMENTS TO COMPLETE THE COURSE:

  • 90% attendance is compulsory, otherwise required to give an additional asana practice test.

  • Appear for the theory, practical and teaching assessments.

  • Give presentations in Anatomy & Philosophy classes.

  • Take Ashtanga Class
